Conscious Ageing and Ageing-Related Consultancy Services
Conscious Ageing Hungary provides consultancy services that respond to one of the most significant social transformations of our time: population ageing. Drawing on decades of professional experience, the Foundation supports public institutions, municipalities, companies, and research partners in developing sustainable, inclusive, and care-centred responses to ageing societies.
Our consultancy work is grounded in an integrated understanding of ageing that connects social infrastructure, care systems, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. This approach allows us to design solutions that are both strategic and practical, tailored to local contexts while aligned with European and international policy frameworks.
Areas of Expertise
The expert portfolio of Conscious Ageing Hungary spans environmental, social, and care-related fields, reflecting the complex realities of ageing in contemporary societies. Core areas of expertise include:
- rural and regional development in ageing communities
- sustainability, regenerative approaches, and environmental responsibility
- social infrastructure development and community-based services
- care systems and elderly care
- sustainable food systems, organic farming, and community-supported agriculture
This cross-sectoral knowledge enables the Foundation to address ageing not as an isolated issue, but as a systemic challenge that intersects with housing, health, food security, mobility, and social inclusion.
Consultancy for Municipalities and Public Institutions
Conscious Ageing Hungary has recent and ongoing consultancy experience with municipalities and public bodies, particularly in regions facing rapid demographic change. Our work supports local decision-makers in developing evidence-based, socially responsive strategies for ageing populations.
Key consultancy themes include:
- Strategy development in rapidly ageing communities, with a focus on long-term resilience and quality of life
- Public budgeting for older generations, supporting age-responsive and transparent allocation of resources
- Prevention and response to violence against ageing women, addressing a frequently overlooked dimension of gender-based violence
- Co-housing and home-share solutions, promoting affordable, socially connected living arrangements and mutual support
These projects contribute to strengthening local governance capacity while fostering dignity, safety, and participation for older people.
Corporate Consultancy and Applied Research
The Foundation also works with private sector partners to support innovation and responsible product and service development for older generations. Corporate consultancy activities include:
- development and adaptation of products and services tailored to the needs of older people or care providers
- awareness-raising initiatives related to active and conscious ageing
- research and user-centred insight generation
A current flagship collaboration is the ÉletPlusz project, implemented in partnership with Haleon Healthcare Company. This project exemplifies how cross-sector cooperation can generate socially meaningful innovation while increasing public awareness around healthy and active ageing.
Research, Partnerships, and European Engagement
Conscious Ageing Hungary actively participates in national, regional, and EU projects, contributing expertise to multidisciplinary and international consortia. The Foundation collaborates with universities on research initiatives related to ageing, care, sustainability, and social innovation, ensuring that its consultancy work remains evidence-based and forward-looking.
At the strategic level, the Foundation is a partner of TÖOSZ (the Hungarian National Association of Local Authorities), strengthening its connection to municipal governance and policy development.
Looking ahead, Conscious Ageing Hungary is committed to building a European Conscious Ageing Network. This initiative aims to connect local actors, municipalities, researchers, and civil society organisations across Europe to exchange knowledge, develop shared approaches, and promote care-centred, sustainable responses to demographic change.
